TRIA Laser Hair Removal

July 27th, 2009

Safe, In home, laser hair removal system.

The TRIA System is FDA-cleared, simple, and safe to use, it delivers long-lasting, hair-free results that until now were available only at a doctor’s office. Imagine a life free of unwanted hair.

Save time.
Skip the next trip to the salon and opt for treatments that now take mere minutes to complete — thanks to the TRIA System’s faster, improved technology.

Save money.
Based on national averages, the cost of professional hair removal on the legs, underarms, and bikini line only is upwards of $10,000 for a complete course of treatments. The TRIA system delivers the same long-lasting results at just $795 for the entire body.

Is the Tria System right for ME?

Temporary results like those experienced with waxing and shaving can’t compare with the freedom that laser hair removal provides. After just a few easy treatments, you will be free from the embarrassment, inconvenience and worry of unwanted hair.

Because TRIA Beauty understands that lasting, hair-free results are a top priority for most people, we are hard at work to make at-home laser hair removal possible for everyone. But for now, the TRIA System is proven to be safe and effective only on individuals with light skin and dark hair.

You ARE a suitable candidate for laser hair removal if:
You have naturally medium brown, dark brown, or black hair and your skin is white, ivory, beige, or light brown.

You ARE NOT a suitable candidate for laser hair removal if:
You have naturally blonde, red, white, or gray hair; your skin is dark to deep brown or black; or you are of African-American, East Indian, Native American, or Pacific Islander descent.

Additional Precautions:
The TRIA System SHOULD NOT be used:

• On or around the eye area, including the eyebrows.

• On or around the face, head, ears, neck, nipples, genitals, or anus.

• By anyone under 18 years of age.

• By pregnant or nursing women.

How does Tria work?

It’s all about selective photothermolysis. Big word – simple to understand.

Photothermolysis is the process by which the TRIA System’s laser energy targets the dark pigment in the hair, where it is transformed into heat that disables the hair follicle. This targeted process causes the hair to gradually fall out and stop growing back.

It is important to understand that visible results are not immediate because hair grows in cycles.

During any single treatment, some hair follicles will be dormant with no visible hair growth and some will be in a growth cycle, where the hair is visible on the surface of the skin. To benefit from laser treatment, the hair must be in the growth cycle (visible prior to shaving) during treatment.

For optimal results, we recommend one treatment every other week for the first three months then one treatment per month for 3-5 months. This is the average amount of time it takes for the majority of the hair follicles to move through the growth cycle and be treated.

How do I use it?

The TRIA Laser Hair Removal System can be used on the legs, underarms, bikini line, back, chest, abdomen, arms, hands, or feet, or anywhere that’s suitable, below the neck.

Step 1:
Cleanse, shave, and thoroughly towel-dry the skin.

Step 2:
Press the skin sensor firmly against the area to be treated and press the blue button.

Step 3:
When the light turns green, wave the Skin Sensor over the energy level selector on the handle of the TRIA Laser to unlock the device. You will hear a series of beeps and see the top light on the handle turn off – this means the laser has been unlocked and is now ready for use.

Step 4:
Select the energy level that’s comfortable for you. There are three levels to choose from: 1 (low), 2 (medium), 3 (high).

Step 5:
Apply the tip of the laser to the skin and listen for the beep indicating that and the device has delivered an automatic laser pulse*. If you hear a buzz, the laser has misfired and you will need to re-treat the area.

Step 6:
Reposition the TRIA laser by overlapping slightly with the last treatment area and repeat until you have covered the desired area.

Step 7:
Repeat every other week for the first three months then one treatment per month for the next 3-5 months.

*When applied to the skin, the TRIA laser emits a single laser pulse, delivering a beam of light through the tip of the device. The tip is large enough to treat multiple hair follicles at a time in a concentrated area. Once the pulse is complete, the TRIA laser will emit a short beep, indicating you should move on to the next treatment area.

What can I expect after I use Tria?

During Treatment:
Some users experience a warm, prickling sensation, while others experience no sensation at all. As the amount of hair in the treated areas decreases, the sensation will also decrease.

After the first treatment:
There will be no visible change to the hair or the appearance of the skin. On occasion, some users experience mild redness that quickly dissipates within 24 hours.

After the second and third treatments:
Hair growth will begin to lighten and become finer. In some cases, it will appear as if the hair is continuing to grow. If you notice this, don’t panic – this is simply the skin working to eject the treated hair from the skin.

After the fourth and fifth treatments:
You will begin to see a visible reduction in the amount of re-growth, especially in areas where hair growth tends to be dense, like the bikini line for women or the back or chest for men.

After six to eight treatments:
Hair growth that has been treated and disabled by the TRIA System will not grow back.
As a result, the skin will appear smoother and virtually pore-free. Maintaining this smooth, hair-free result may require the occasional spot treatment of stray hairs that were either missed or not disabled completely during the initial 6–8 treatments.

Recession Rejuvenators For Your Skin

July 27th, 2009

“As the major networks have been reporting, looking your best during this recession may be the key to getting and maintaining a job.” A record number of people are seeking face enhancements to look younger and brighter.

With a plethora of choices it is difficult to know where to start. Finding a clinical skin care professional that is experienced and knowledgeable can be challenging. A good clinical esthetician will not only guide you to the proper skin care regimen for home use, but will also lead you to results oriented services that bring real improvements to the look, feel and health of your skin. Nothing feels better than knowing you are putting your best face forward to a prospective employer.

Three less expensive procedures that bring a big bang for the buck are:

Deep Pore Cleansing Treatments: not only refresh the skin but literally clean the pores. Not all deep pore cleansing facials are equal. Many estheticians will say they do extractions or clean pores when in reality most of the time is spent rubbing on and removing product. Though this feels good, it is like going to your dental hygienist and only having your teeth polished and skipping the essential part of the treatment. Deep pore cleansing treatments include gentle extractions to remove clogged pores, unsightly blemishes, clear the skin and help control future clogged pores and breakouts.

Microdermabrasion: is another good choice for brightening the skin and exfoliating dead cells. A fine, controlled spray of crystals removes the outer layer of the skin, accelerating your own skin cell turn over, revealing the younger, tighter, healthier skin underneath. Microdermabrasion is usually a 30 minute procedure that is safe for all skin types and colors. Many people immediately notice improvements in the texture and appearance of their skin after just the first treatment. For a more aggressive treatment, light acids may be added to the procedure for greater results.

Chemical Peels: address skin damage caused by aging, accumulated sun exposure, acne, and acne scarring. They also are used to reduce and remove melasma, a skin condition that is characterized by brown patches that are irregularly shaped and occur commonly on the face and neck. Chemical peels are also performed on hands, arms, legs, chest and back. Light peels are the mildest of the chemical peels and include alphahydroxy acids or betahydroxy acids. They burn off the outer layers of the skin to smooth out fine lines, wrinkles and rough/dry skin. They also improve texture, skin pigmentation and may diminish acne scars. These peels are repeated often to achieve the desired results.

Home care regimens: are crucial to maintaining the results of your treatments. A knowledgeable skin care professional will not only assist in choosing the most results oriented services for your skin, but will also make recommendations for at home skin care products. Because each skin is different, she will have a variety of products to choose from. The products may, or may not be from the same skin care line but should be a combination of products with active ingredients that meet the needs of your individual skin.
